Squash leaves, white spots

I am in the chicagoland area and have a variety of squashes growing in my garden, and some of them are starting to get white powdery looking spots on them. Is this a problem? Is there anything I can do to keep it from spreading or to stop the growth on the affected plant? I appreciate any help, thanks!

It's a problem. It's a fungus called powdery mildew. It's been discussed here frequently. Type powdery mildew into the Search the Forum Keyword box and find a lot of suggestions about it... good luck! :)
