This may be a very very bad idea......

I like to dry my herbs and things from this light fixture. Well.....................................this is the first time I'm curing/drying anything LONG:

Isn't garlic toxic to cats?

You can tie the greens up in a knot

What a crack-up! I can only imagine the cats' thought processes:

Cat 1: "Oh! Interesting!...Should I bat it or eat it?"

Cat 2: "Silly! Of course, you should--Oh. I see what you mean."

Cats 1 and 2: "YUMMMM!" nom nom nom

Well they survived the night!

Garlic can cause anemia in cats (and dogs and horses and people) but it's all about quantity. Onions are more of a culprit in cats than garlic. If they're just nibbling on the leaves it won't do anything. I feed Gandalf (the white one) table scraps which do have garlic in them and he's always been fine.

That is one of the funniest collections of photos I've seen here!

Hmmm... new playtoys to nibble!

Cute cats, too! :D

So, did you find where they threw the garlic leaves up? 8)

...
I ave a question here. My basic rule of thumb when drying things is to hang whatever you want to save DOWN. So herbs and rice get hung upside down. my vague thought is that you want gravity to "drain" whatever goodness is left in the stems and stalks into what you want to save.

So I always hang garlic with the bulbs down..... :?:

LOL, totally hilarious RR !! :()

Oh and great pics too !!

+1 on " where'd they throw up " eywhh

uumm, appears you pulled the garlic too early, RR? The leaves should be half goners.. (brown). But its all in the fun & learning. I plan to grow much more this fall, and none for the kitties- I have too many half- ferals in my neighborhood wreaking havoc

I harvested my lowly dozen on June 7th.

My diabetic cat will anything she can get her grubby little paws on, including broccoli. The aftermath involves mealy green barf in various places around the house.
