Ok so I've been having problems with bugs, mice and rats. mostly bug though. My dog has been taking care of the rats and mice. Shes allready caught 5. Gotta love my little hunter. :D but the ones shes hasnt gotten have taken my tomatos stem and all right off the plant. Any suggestions?

I have to admit that I did give in after I lost about 20 green tomatos to bugs and sprayed my garden with seven. It worked and got rid of most every harmful bug I could see. But theres a bug that keeps coming back and I have no idea what it is. heres a pic.

I have no idea what they are and would like to know. Also how to get rid of them?
My tomato and cukes leafs are being eaten by something too.

I can't find your bug in the tomato pictures. What am I looking for (what does it look like) and where in the picture is it?

The first leaf picture looks like leafhoppers or some sucking insect like that (possibly thrips).

The second leaf picture and the pepper look more like slug damage. If you cut that pepper open, you may find the slug curled up cosy inside. (I know eeuw, eeuw, totally grossed me out the first time I found one of my peppers like that). (But it could be some kind of caterpillar/ worm too)

So clearly spraying Sevin all over hasn't been a miracle cure for your garden. What happens is you kill off all the beneficial bugs too (the things that would normally be there to eat the leafhoppers and stuff like that). Then when the leafhoppers and stuff come back (as they always do) there's nothing around to help control them and your yard goes crazy with bugs.

Put in some bird feeders!

The leaf picture with tiny holes looks like flea beetle damage, and that black speck on the leaf might in fact be a flea beetle.

The bug is right on the green tomato in the middle of the picture. it looks like some sort of beetle. Its brown and has a white stripe around it body. Also has long legs and can fly.
I'll cut open thje pepper to see if there is a bug inside it. and thanks for the info on the bugs.

The bug looks like a leaf-footed bug. Big problem in my area.

Looks like this, right? https://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/galveston/images/DSCN1305%20Leaf-footed%20bug.GIF
