Crooked neck, Straight neck pollination

Will crooked neck yellow squash and straight neck yellow squash pollinate? I have both in my garden with low number of bees it seems. Rainbowgardener recommended hand pollinating, which I've done some but just remembered it's two different types present. Wonder if this could be part of my problem? Should I only pollinate alike plants? Thanks!

Crookneck, straight neck, patti pan, acorn, most pumpkin varieties, and zucchini are all in the same species, and will freely cross pollinate.

Great to know that...thank you. I have two crooknecks, two straight necks, and two zucchini in our small garden. Guess that means I can grab a male flower and fertilize any female flower I see open.
