What is going on with my Corn.... eggs? bugs?

Ok this is my first time ever planting corn and they were growing so well and then I saw the leaves getting eaten and today I noticed that in almost all of them are what look like gooey eggs... what do I need to do?

Go out at night and look for snails or slugs. Do a search on this forum for snail control. It is a subject that comes up regularly.

I know :( I can't find anything when I google about what these gooey egg looking things could be but they are in almost every stalk I have. Tempted to just cut them all down but I don't want to LOL

Corn ear worm and European corn borer will do that...
