Watermelon help

Good Morning, For the last three years I have tried growing watermelon with pretty good success, the question I have is "why" do some of the watermelons have a soft end, tapered on one end. This will happen on a few others are fine. I do not water them to much or fertilize them to often. Any help will be helpful. Thanks from Texas

It may be that they are not getting pollinated. That is how squash and cucumbers respond if they don't get pollinated. The blossom end fails to develop and turns soft.
