Chinese White Winter Radishes

I picked up these interesting looking radishes seeds at the local nursery today- Chinese White Winter Radish seeds from Pages. Since I got a community garden plot also for all my vining type stuff, I'm looking to add more into my garden boxes at home! (probably getting in over my head tho!)

Has anyone ever tried them? Are they any good- can I plant them now, or should I reserve them for fall time?

It may be a little late for a spring crop. Radishes like cool weather. They tend to bolt if it is hot. You can make a late summer planting for a fall crop.

For me "Late Summer" means mid August. At that I get about six weeks before frost. If I plant later than that, not enough time before cold weather. If I want a second crop of peas, I have to plant July 4.
