Diversity Jerusalem Artichoke ECOS — Helianthus tuberosus
Liked cool cause you get diffrent types are they hard to grow from seeds? How long do they take?

Stampede Jerusalem Artichoke I like the look of.

'Wild PJ’s ' Jerusalem Artichoke sounds nice and the flower would be nice to have. Do the flowers and stalks look like a sunflower or more weed like?

Red Rover Jerusalem Artichoke is a fast grower.

I'm thinking maybe wild pjs or the diversity.

they're all fast growers, and generally nice and tall. flavor doesn't change much between varieties. I've found texture to be more variable than flavor...

I've grown stampede, red rover, and and unnamed variety that's similar to stampede...stampede produces more tuber than the red, and they're fatter tubers (but more knobby/harder to clean). stampede and my other white are a bit juicier/waterier; red rover seems more dense and hard. stampede dies down earlier in the year, so you can harvest more...but you have a longer season, so you may want to take more advantage of the long season required for red rover...haven't grown 'pj's', but I doubt the plant/flower will look much different from other varieties.

personally, I think you should get the 'diversity' ones...they're grown from seed (but they've done that, you get tubers), so there will be variety in color and form (and probably cultural preferences too)...it's like trying several different kinds at once. you may see that a particular variety represented there does better for you than others, and will outcompete the others; and after a few years, you could have one variety that does real well right where you are...or they could all perform about the same and you'll always have more diverse patch than others. you'll be able to produce seed, too, which you wouldn't be able to do with a single variety. that's my vote.
