Can you help me identify this pest/disease?

Hi everyone, I'm very excited to have a garden of my own and things seem to be going well, however on my cucumbers, peppers, pole beans, tomatoes there seem to be something wrong. Either the veins are discolored or something is burrowing in the leaves...or its something else all together? Do you guys have any ideas? I understand it could be leaf miners or a nitrogen deficiency caused by too much phosphorous. Maybe something in my soil (compost from the local landfill)? Any other input would be very helpful, thanks.

Yup, definitely leaf miners, a little insect that burrows in between the layers of the leaves.

Best thing to do is just pick off any of the leaves you see with the little trails in them and discard them, not in the compost pile.

Being inside the leaves, they are not very vulnerable to any kinds of sprays. Type leaf miner (or leafminer) into the Search the Forum Keyword Box, to find what's already been written here about them.

Thanks a lot for your replies, I've clipped off any affected leaves and am looking forward to the new foliage.
