Plant your potatoes when you see your first Dandelion blooms.

I plant my first potatoes mid to late March. Sangreis a good potato for my climate.
Have you seen James's ( jal_ut ) red potatoes?

3 weeks, that sounds about right. Our average last frost is April 15th.
Red Pontiac
RED LA SODA - Tubers are "elliptical to slightly oblong; bright deep red skin; medium-deep, wide eyes; white flesh.... High yielding variety of attractive appearance. Resistant to tipburn, and to wind, heat and drought damage; some resistance to mechanical bruising. Slightly susceptible to hollow heart and growth cracks. Wide adaptation, grows well in both southern and northern areas. Medium specific gravity; good storability with medium dormancy." Primary uses: boiling, baking, chipping, French frying. Also spelled Red LaSoda

Thanks, unbelievably I was cleaning out my garden space yesterday and found a blooming dandelion. We often have frost in march so I think I'll compromise and wait a week or two. But this helped.DoubleDogFarm wrote:Plant your potatoes when you see your first Dandelion blooms.
