Question about Manoa lettuce

I purchased a small container of Manoa lettuce earlier today because it looked like a soft buttery lettuce. I thought I could grow & harvest them much like spinach. After I got it home and did a little research, I believe I bought seedlings and I need to separate them so they will grow into individual heads. Can someone please take a look at my picture and advise. Sorry for the photo quality, it was taken with my webcam because I'm to lazy at the moment to go get my regular camera. Many thanks!!

Yes, I would separate it and space it out to make heads.

Thank you and sorry I forgot to update. I did separate it and about half have perished, some are struggling and the rest are doing very well. I can't wait to see how many heads I survive.
