Should I grow Fennel or not?

Here is a plant I know very little about but plan on having it on my table this year. When I found out you could use it it slaw I was sold. Its also good in salads! Has anyone grown this plant and what do you suggest?

I use the seed in fresh sausage. the bulbs are good roasted, and the leaves make good additions to stock.
