Too much rain!!

My tomato plants are wilting. And my area is expected to get more steady heavy rain for the next 4 days. Any suggestions on how to protect the plants without overheating them, it's still pretty friggin' hot here.

Try digging down around them, pits of troughs for the water to run into. That may or may not help; if your ground is already wet, they're just gonna fill up with the water from the rain already in the ground. :?

I just put a tarp over the plants when the rains come. Thankfully the storms missed my area for the last two days. Just on more day of 60% chance of rain and then the chance of rain for the next week hovers around 20%, plus temps in the upper 80's instead of mid 90's.

I can't wait for the cooler weather, summer down here just doesn't want to give up....and it's almost October. :x
