Growing mini white cucumbers

Hi,

I have some seeds and in my area I have time to grow these before it gets too cold. I was thinking about growing it in a pot. I have 1,2,and 3 gallon pots available. Do cucumbers have really deep and spreading roots? Anyway, what size pot do you recommend? I also know I might have to support the plant with a trellis or something.

I have some tomato stakes and garden twine. Would this be ok to use? Should I make a trellis or just stick the stakes into the pot and let the plant use that?

the bigger the better, I used 3 gallon and that now seems to have been a little small. Depends on the size the plants get. Generally, 5 gallon is what is recommended.

From what I hear the vines rarely exceed 3 ft.

I myself would never put a vegetable plant in anything less than 5 gallon.

The stakes and twine would be alright. We don't know what variety you are growing. Anything to support it will be plus for sure. It all depends on how much time and material you want to put into it. Ideally a trellis would be pimpin' but I garden a lot of the time with what I have. If you want to make or buy a small trellis go for it.
