cucumber melon ball

Hi I am a newby my wife and I started a garden this summer ,we purchased some stock that was already going at a local nursery.we bought what we thought was cucumber plants, but turns out that they are a cucumber melon ball .we are looking for info on these and haven't had any luck not even where we purchased them the plants are producing roundish type fruit a little bigger than a golf ball .we would like to know when to pick ? thanks todd

Todd,

Could these be Lemon Cucumber? If they are, edible at all stages. I wouldn't let them get any bigger than a hand ball.

same size wrong color they look like a green melon

May be Eric, you are way more experienced than I am, but I was thinking maybe a second generation cross between slicer and lemon. What are the possibilities if any of that?

Lemon cucumber is light green like a honeydew when small golfball sized.
