Broken Pepper Plant

I am new to this forum, so hello! I am growing some Fresno peppers (some from seed, some that I bought online). One of my plants was attacked by my new puppy this morning and the stem broke and the plant was uprooted. I have since put the roots back in the ground, but the stem is still leaning over (it didn't completely break off). Do any of you know if this plant will survive and, if so, how did you support the broken stem?

Thanks!

water it real good. you can also stake it up and tie it loosely to the stake with old panty hose or strips of cloth. I've even used pieces of duct tape to keep split plants together. It would also be good if you could shade it with something for a few days.
