Are these a vegetable or a weed?

This is my first year of growing veggies so I am a rookie. The following has taken over the onion section of my garden. I don't know if it is something else I planted that drifted there or if it is a weed. I have about fifteen different veggies planted but there is nothing else anywhere in the garden that looks like it. If it is a weed, I would think it would be someplace else also, but like I said, I'm a newbie so I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

Kinda looks like peppermint. Smell it.

photo is to small, can't tell.

Mints have square stems. Is the stem square?

No, it's not square and doesn't smell like mint.

It looks like a weed to me, but by the time I enlarge the pic enough to see details, it's too pixelated to discern anything. :(

I couldn't even get the picture to enlarge, so agree it is too small to really tell what it is a picture of.

The original image is 1.3 MB but that image shack must shrink it when uploading. Thanks for responding though.

you may have accidentally uploaded the thumbnails. The full size files may be in another folder/directory.

Google purslane and see if that is the beast.

Thanks, thumbnail was indeed the default. I re-uploaded the photo at the highest setting. Please look again. I have edited my post with the new link (as below).

It's a weed. Don't think it is purslane.

But check the pictures in this thread:

https://www.helpfulgardener.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=214718#214718

someone posted two pix, asking if they were both purslane. Consensus was the one on the left is purslane, the one on the right is some other unknown weed. I'm thinking yours (now that the picture is fixed, thanks) looks like the one on the right.

Anyway, pretty sure it is a weed, not a veggie -- sorry :(
