Pepper problems

I have a few green pepper plants and some sweet and hot banana peppers. Currently having issues with each...

1) Banana pepper plants: While they began producing a couple weeks ago pretty nicely, everything has come to a screeching halt, and the plants themselves are looking pretty ragged. The leaves are darkening and getting droopy, and I don't see any real new buds on most of them. I was under the impression that if I continued picking them often, they would continue to produce. Not sure what's happening there.

2) Green bell pepper: Below is a picture of our first green pepper. Wondering if this is some kind of disease, or did I just leave it on the plant too long? I was expecting the pepper to get bigger, and did not realize this was happening on the bottom. Is it just rot, or something more nefarious?

I'm a complete newbie, but could it be blossom end rot?

Anyone else? Also, can I slice off the bad part and eat the rest?

I say blossom end rot, too. When I had that problem before, I added diluted Espsom Salts, and it seemed to fix the problem.

I don't think there would be a problem with eating the good part of the pepper. When I have had it in the past, I was so disgusted that I threw the pepper onto the compost heap. However, I bet I could have eaten the good part.
