No, I think Eric is comparing this time last year with more robust growth to this year's late developing.

I may have a little loss of gardening enthusiasm.

If I concentrate on the business, the garden suffers. If I concentrate on the garden the business suffers. So both are not where I want them to be. Takes money to buy garden supplies. Takes time to make money. No time left for the garden or no money for the garden.

jack of all trades, master of none.

I guess I should be thankful not having to deal with the earthquakes, tornadoes, flooding, drought, bugs and diseases some of you are going through.

That's why the more I think about wanting to make my hobby a business the less I want to ruin my hobby...

deal with it and enjoy your garden and its rewards, there are good years, there are normal years and there are crappy years. such is the life of the farmer/gardener.

It's like night and day in the garden this year for us. Dry, dry, dry is the word. I don't think I'm going to get even close to the same production this year compared to last, even with twice the amount of tomato's planted.
