I've noticed that some of the leaves start to droop on my cucumber vines. Wondering, of course, if it has got bacterial wilt (or whatever it's called.) So I watered it and they came back to life. I watered them this morning, although I don't believe they were drooping......just watered them because it's been hot. But now (around 4pm) a few of the leaves are drooping again. This is the second or third time that they stop drooping after being watered and seem fine for awhile, then a few start drooping again. Sometimes it's just a few leaves. I haven't seen any cucumber beetles except for a few weeks ago, but it wasn't anywhere near the cucumber (and I killed it.) The container is about 29" long, 8" wide, and 6" deep. There are only 2 vines in the container. The leaves have some issues (see pictures) so I'm not sure if that is a clue as to what is going on. Can the container be too small? Lacking something? The dreaded wilt disease??? The pictures show one of the leaves drooping (this is about 30 minutes or so after I watered it for the second time today); the other pix show a close up of the leave issues; the other is the entire plant.

They make a shade cloth that you can drape directly over the plant. They come in several weights...some for shade, some for warming in the winter.
