using fish fertalizer in hose feeder

I want to use my fish fertalizer in a hose end garden feeder, my question is how much should I put in the container?? I have an old one that somebody gave my hubby so I have no instructions on how to use it.

If you have the hose fertilizer unit that is about a pint I just fill it and spray until it's empty.
Once a week.

great, thank you.

Is once a week ok, at the garden center I went to they said only once a month, I don't want to burn the roots.

Once a week may be a little much IMHO (no offense ).

Fish fertilizer won't burn roots like a chemical fertilizer will. It can build up though and cause problems that way. Fish fert is usually a 5-1-1 which means heavy on the nitrogen which means heavy leaf growth and less fruit growth. So take it easy or add a more balanced mix to your sprayer.

The liquid fish I use is 2-4-1.
It won't burn.
With the amount of water to spray 1 pint it never burnt anything.
I spray the pumpkins every week.

Plants need nitrogen.
If you were talking a 24-10-10 or a 30-10-10 then I would be concerned unless I was spraying grass.

2-4-1 is not bad I have 2 bottles of fish emulsion from 2 different companys both are 5-1-1 that would be too much. 8)

Even a 5-1-1 with the amout of water it will take to spray 1 pint it won't hurt a thing
If you are afraid of using it spray it on the lawn.
The grass will love it.

Drammatic "O" hydrolyzed fish fertilizer 2-5-1

Lilly Miller Alaska Fish 5-1-1

I've used both, as foliar spray with good results, but like the first one better.

I also broadcast or side dress with 6-4-4 granular fert.

Our son-in-law put th actual fish in the raised beds throughout last fall and then spring. Their gardens are the healthiest I've ever seen.
