blossoms so soon?

Hi all. I got a suprise (to me, at least) in my garden today. One of my squash plants had a blossom. I know they do this, however, I thought my plants would have to get a lot bigger before they started getting blossoms! Heres a picture (sorry about the lack of focusing) of one thats bloomed, and another plant thats about to. Also, my markers got pulled out. Can anyone tell me if this is a zuchninni or yellow squash plant?
Thanks!

mine started flowering at that size also. I don't think you will be able to tell what it is until the squash under the flower starts growing, actually if it's attached to a squash, you might be able to see what it is.

The leaves look like zucchini.
