The State of the Garden June 8 -- Pictures

These Egyptian onions were planted in the fall. Look close in the next row you can see some that were planted this spring, then the Elephant Garlic behind that.

Onions started from seed direct sown in the garden.

Things are still small. Carrots on the right. Red cabbage if you look real close. The big stuff is turnips, some lettuce, with onions and garlic behind.

A patch of volunteer lettuce and a patch of volunteer chard. This area will be going into late corn.

It is warm and dry today. I have not watered this at all yet. I would like to, but am at the mercy of the irrigation company. When they decide to put water in the system, then I can irrigate.

You can see some empty space in this one where some rodent critter had himself a dining experience. I'm trying not to use a fence this year.
