Does anyone have a set-up where they pump water from a lake to irrigate their garden? If so, I'd like to learn more about your set up.

I believe in many areas of the country this may not be legal. I would check and see if pumping water from a lake for personal use is legal where you live before getting too heavily invested in anything.
My in-laws own some lake-front property in TN but there are all kinds of laws regarding what they can and cant do with the water and even the vegetation within a certain distance of the shore line.
