Wow! I didn't think I had been on here that much. All I have to say is this forum has been a great experience, and my hat is off to all of you. What a great bunch of gardeners. It has been fun to share ideas and methods. It has been educational to see how conditions and timing vary so much across our country.
Carry on.

James, I've read many of your posts, seen many of your garden pics and envy you for what you can get to produce in the relatively short growing season you have. You are obviously doing a lot of things right to enjoy such success.
Your gardening knowledge is an asset to the group so you keep on posting and sharing your thoughts, experiences and the occasional failures we all must endure when dealing with Mother Nature.
I look forward to your posts, so keep em' coming.

You all flatter me. Thank you.
Here is where I live viewed from a ways back. In winter.

These are the mountains to the North West.

I will confess, I like to play with my camera too.

Jal being next door to me (Colorado) may I ask how are you doing with all of the rain that we have been receiving lately? Has it affect your garden, in particular your tomatos?
Any input on how to rid one of blight on my tomatos would be greatly appriecated. I am not ready to give up on them just yet but would like to stay ahead of those "nasties"..........Thanks

Rain, rain, rain, and cool weather. the garden stuff is growing so slow. I built a tent to put the tomatoes and peppers in. They seem to be doing fine with it.
The corn I planted on May 5 has came up in spite of the cool wet weather. The squash I planted the same day, about half of it came up. Not completely giving up hope yet. I didn't make a map, so I don't know what varieties came up. I think I will plant some more of something, and in the end see what I get.
Most of my early crops came up. They are not growing very fast. Again I don't know what was planted in the blank spots. I guess I will take what I get. The garlic, onions and shallots looking good. Volunteer lettuce looking good. Volunteer chard looking good, but not growing very fast. I do have some spinach about ready to eat. It was planted on the 3rd of March. I moved snow to plant it.
I really need to get weeding but the ground has been too wet to do much.
I took three days between showers to mow the lot. Today the top of the garden dried enough for a walk through. I checked on my bees, and that is about all I got done.
Sorry, I don't know what to do with blight. A Google search turned this up. Click
We have pretty low humidity here most of the time and the fungal diseases have not been much of a problem. This year is different. I hope you can get a handle on it.

Jal you are in my top 5 fav's on here. What would we do without you and your very short cold season showing us all up every year?jal_ut wrote:

Another reason is the above quote, what would James know about Blight with his 20% humidity, heck I am happy when it gets below 80% in the summer. I am envious.
You rock Jal
