You've got me drooling also. It will be a while before I get any corn. My first planting is just emerging.

I just planted a couple for my small garden recently as well... I can't wait until they're ready (popcorn).

I planted honey and cream also...
First row I planted is about knee high. Next two rows are about 10" high. I spaced out the plantings hoping it wouldn't all mature at the same time.
and yes you have me drooling also

How fast should corn grow in the early stages? I have one row that's now nearly 4 weeks old, and the little guys are only 4-5" tall.

I have two newer rows that are a week behind the first row, and they're ~3" tall.

I'm in coastal Los Angeles, Zone 23, but it just hasn't been getting very hot this May. The highs have been in the mid-70s.

I _think_ the plants are getting enough water, because I put in a drip system, and the soil under the surface is damp.

How wet should it be?
