Is this swiss chard?

Hello. I just started gardening for the first time this year (I have half-heartedly tried in the past with no success). The area I am using is on the side of my house and its been very overrun with weeds. Recently I saw a whole crop of what I thought are weeds with very broad leaves, and they are all growing together in a certain 5-10 foot area, but I have seen some pictures of swiss chard and it looks a lot like that. I've only lived here about nine months, so I don't know what may have been planted in that area before.

It would be fantastic if it was swiss chard, because not only would I not have to pull it out, but it sounds really tasty. Thanks for any help!

That's not like any chard I've ever grown. Not to say it couldn't be some variety because there are so many different varieties of plants, it's almost impossible to know them all.

Look up Sorrel or Dock. It looks like a wild type to me.

It looks like Broadleaf dock. Edible, but do some research before proceeding.

Looks like something else is chowing down on it.

Looks like weeds to me :P. However, as others have said, there are quite a few weeds which are edible.
