Question about squash

This may be a silly question but:

I know that you have to have both a male and female blossom to get squash but I was wondering, if a squash is growing and the female blossom opens but there are no male blossoms open yet, does the squash die off or does it continue to grow?
I have several little squash where the blossoms have opened but there are no male blossoms open yet and I don't know if they are getting pollinated.

The first female blossoms may not get pollinated and the blossom will drop. Don't worry, you will get many more.
