If you could grow anything...

in the garden, what plant would it/they be?

I haven't had an edible pineapple in a long time, and never from a store in the continental US. A money tree would also be nice.

Money tree? Isn't that like inherited wealth?

Here is something that probably many of you can get away with - not the inherited wealth, sorry - but it probably wouldn't grow well for me: I'd really like to have a fig tree . . :)

There was one between the house and the gate from the side pasture when I was a kid. But, that was in southern Oregon.

I can't bring myself to move a small tree indoors for months & months each winter and just don't know if I could really protected it from sub-zero weather. It would fruit early enuf tho', I'm confident of that. Might just try one . . .

Honestly, if I could, I would love to plant blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. And would also love to plant rubard too!!

A mango tree. Hands down, game over. I would do very, very bad things to have a fruiting mango tree in my yard.

Banana Tree. With as many as the wife and kid eat I am beginning to think they are part monkey.

Well that is obvious.. Kristin Kreuk is a twig, so I would plant whatever seed grows the tree that produces that fine of a twig.

Oh wait.. this was a serious thread? Hmmm.. I think trying a Hokkaido Black Watermelon would be interesting.

Dragon fruit... I have no idea what it tastes like, but they look cool... And the mascot where I coach is the dragons!

Decent onions that are Vidalia sweet and softball sized. Not golfball sized ones that are fire breathing hot!

I think a tree of knowledge would give you everything you want!

I would love to grow water melons but I just don't have the space. Most of my small backyard garden is dedicated to the production of tomatoes. :D

It will take planning to figure out how to sneak in melons.

Blueberries, Blackberries, and Avocados. Sigh. Wish I had the room and the climate. Too hot for the berries and no room for trees. :(

Well, I have briefly had the black berries growing in the yard, but since there was to much shade where they were planted (behind garage) they have since died off... But my goal is to grow some grapes (green and concord) and blueberries... I have had a hankering for some home grown fresh blueberries for about a year now.. I know they will grow.. cant go down the road where I live without seeing blueberry farms.

Lilacs, rhododendron, kalmia. Too hot here for them. Cherries, too. Ohhhh, Narcissus, Tulipa, too. Blue spruce! Paper birch!

Okay, don't get greedy, 'than. Just a few daffodils will do.
