so I planted some lipstick pepper seeds last year from pepper we got in at work and ended up with three plants. Two already produced some peppers which were very much like the ones I got the seeds from: long pointy and red. now the third plant had peppers on them but at first they looked the same as the others but then they ripened to a chocolate color!
heres pics of the pepper. Anyone seen anything like this?

I don't even like hot peppers, but that looks good enough to eat!!! To answer your first question, I think there was some cross pollination going on.

ah thanks! these were actually sweet peppers and very yummy! we usually get them in at work every summer, although they're always red or yellow.

They look lovely! I love these peppers, still getting some ripe ones from the greenhouse. I grew lipstick peppers from pure bought seed and they didnt look like yours Angry Italian!! Mine are bright red with a pointy end!
If I lived closer I'd be over for brunch!! good cooking going on there!!
