signs that carrots are ready to be harvested???

Planted my first carrots this year from seeds. I believe the seed packet said around 60 until maturation...we're only a couple of weeks away from that. What signs will my carrots give me that they are ready?

You can usually see a shoulder develop. You can dig down beside a few and see what they look like. Carrots will continue to grow until frost and a little beyond. You can get some really big ones if you let them go that long. You can harvest them at any size. In other words, you decide.

Carrots are ready when you're ready to eat them!

Like Jal said, you can pull them and see just what size they are. There is really no threshold that says anything below such and such a size in inedible.
