Why are my squash turning brown?

Well my squash plants are growing well, they are large and healthy, no squash vine borers or any bug or other problems. But my fruits are stunted and the ends are brown and withered. Never seen this before.

This is just a few of the fruits , others seam to be developing normally.

Looks like blossom end rot to me. Same thing happened to my watermelons. I was told it was lack of calcium in the soil.

Here's the Sticky at the top of the Tomato forum on Blossom End Rot (BER). It describes known causes and some possible preventive measures for BER.

Good luck and much success!

Thank you cynthia_h, that looks like BER for sure after reading that article. Now I have a bunch of thinking and experimenting to do to get it under control. Funny how many new problems you can get in a garden, just when you think its simple, a new problem you have never seen pops up. Oh well something more to learn.
