I have several varieties of onions I would like to plant this year. I bought the little "bulbs" in packs from a garden center. Do I hill these like one would a potato or do I just plant them 6" apart and let them go? I believe they are all long day varieties as well.
Also while we are on the subject. I have some green bunching seeds. Is there anything special I should do with them?

Oh dear. I am afraid that in SC you may want short day onions. The long day onions will grow and make good green onions, but may be reluctant to bulb.
Yes, plant 6 inches apart. You don't need to plant them very deep. Just deep enough to barely cover them. You can plant them now. You could have probably planted them a month ago. They do well with a good nitrogen content in the soil. Good Luck.
