Dung beetles

Are they a good thing?

Today, I watched 3, move big dog poo. I literally watched the guys do it; Nature's front loaders!

Today, I also found I have 3 preying mantis.

Bug's life isn't the best movie out there, but I like the fact I can identify bugs because of it.

Both of those are good insects to have in your garden. The dung beetle helps break down the dung into nutrients the garden can use. The praying mantis eats (mainly) other insects including aphids, mosquitos, flies and others.
