Harvesting seeds from a moldy veggie?

I grew some bell peppers this year, which turned out great. One of my yellow ones, which is about half the size it needs to be, developed a big moldy spot so I pulled it off. It seems a shame to waste it though, can I harvest the seeds from it for next year? Or does the mold make that a bad idea?

I'm with HG, as well. I'm no pepper expert, but I do know that it's really not preferred to save seed from diseased tomatoes, and since they are in the same family as peppers, it would most likely correlate to them as well.
