Low of 48F expected tonight. Do I need to do anything?

Should I bring in any tomatoes w/ a bit of color to them? What about green beans, wax beans and peppers that aren't quite ready yet - will I lose them?

On the other hand, my lettuce, spinach and chard seedlings are loving this weather. Got 0% germ. on my escarole though.

48 degrees won't hurt anything. Later in the season, you can purchase and use frost protection blankets placed over the plants to protect from frost burn. I've used them for frosts that last just a few hours overnight. They will not protect from an extended overnight freeze.

Yep, you're fine.

Sorry to hear about the escarole. Did you start your seeds outdoors or indoors? If they were started outside, it may not be poor germination, but possibly slugs. They usually are more a problem for me in the fall than in the spring.
