My vegetable and berry garden.

This is just a garden to feed my family so it is not like some of your gardens. Some time I plan to add to my garden so I can grow more and a larger verity of vegetables.
The only disappointment I had this year was my snow peas they did not do as well as last year.

Some of my fruit. I have about 15 or more fruit trees as well some have been here for many years. This is the second year for most the fruit in this section, it is the first year for some of it..

These are Kiwis.

Looking from the Blueberries, this is the berry cage as it is covered to keep out the birds.

Looks awesome to me !!! :)

Hey, is that one of those Harbor Freight greenhouses?
If so, how do you like it? ... any big pluses or minuses you've discovered about it?

I bought one, but have not set it up yet, because I am working on establishing some windbreaks for it first.

Farmerlon yes it is their green house. The wind blew out some of the panels so to fix the problem I got some of the kind of screws that have a grommet on them, the kind use to hold down metal roofs. I secured the center top and bottom of the panels with them. I also ordered some more window clips from a on line green house supply store. Other than that it is a good green house and the price was right. I may some day get one more of them and link them together. I also put a fan in it as green houses get very hot inside. I will be posting some instructions on how to put in a green house fan at a reasonable cost soon.
Sheeshshe I get to keep my berries this way. I used 10 foot poles and drilled a 2 foot deep hole to put them in so it is 8 feet high. This gives you plenty of room inside. I use deer fence on the sides and bird netting on top held up with cable. I am sure there could be a cheaper way by just using bird netting and long poles. It saves a lot of berries.

THIS is what I hope to someday have. I love all the space but even more the way everything is protected. I have a question though.... Have you ever had problems with bears getting to your berries? Friends in northern Michigan (no bears where I'm at) had to electrify their fence due to bears.

Gorgeous! Is that roses along the fence line? I love it how a nice kitchen garden can be so beautiful as well...

How much acreage do you have? Looks like more than just feeding your family (unless you have a VERY big family :) !). What do you do with the excess? Tons of canning and freezing? Give a lot away? Sell some?

BP so it has been only 2 years and so far no bears, I just got power to the green house so I may end up putting a electric fence around it. Bears have thick fur so there are some tricks people do to get the bears to get zapped, one is to put some thing on the wire they stop and smell therefore zapping their noses.
Thanks gixxeriffc, what does gixxeriffc stand for anyways? Gix is terrific? I will go along with that.
Rainbow some are roses and then there is a line of dahlias. We have a bit over 21 acres of the 4 places on our road ours is the smallest in acreage, two of them are twice as big.
Yes we do canning, freezing and give away some away, the rest goes back into compost Like most of us I like vegetables best when they are fresh.
Love your garden and it's wide-open view jal-ut, I may be in Utah this winter skiing.

I am thinking of making an extension to the garden about the same size as it is now and putting more fruit in it and making a garden just for corn so I can have a bigger verity of vegetables.

Looks terrific! If you plan to have separate fruits and veggie areas, you might consider keeping separate compost piles. It was recommended in an old issue of Organic Gardening. Use the veg waste compost on fruits, and fruit waste compost on veggies.

Another idea would be to design a more of a pottager -- or integrated -- type garden with fruit trees on the north side and mixed into the design, adding wind break and cover. Fruit trees in bloom can attract a lot of bees which may benefit some vegetables as well.

Have you read Gaia's Garden by Toby Hemenway? I didn't agree with everything in it, but there are interesting garden/property design ideas in that book. The new edition seems to have corrected or supplemented some things that I thought was lacking, however.

Wow, your garden is great. Berry bushes are something I would like to get into in the future.

Did you start your bushes yourself or were they bought/ordered?
