What are the best varieties? Best time to plant

Hi there. Newbie here.

Please tell me , what are the best varieties of lettuce, silverbeet, tomatoes, beans to grow in my vege garden.

Last summer was my first as a gardener! Lettuce and silverbeet were ok but tomatoes took ages and beans were difficult

So any tips are welcome.

Alos indicate best times to plant the above,

I have those timber boxed gardens about 2.5m long by about 700mm wide and live in Hamilton
