Help me ID this mold/fungus

Please take a look at these 3 pictures I took of a white mold or fungus that is threatening to take over my garden. Any idea what it is, and what I can do about it?

It looks like a slime mold. They are unsightly but harmless. Take a look here.

The phylum which slime molds belong to is Myxomycota, try googling that.
