2010 Garden, progression pics (lots)

Hello everyone. I've learned a lot in my short time here. I'd like to share some of my garden pics from this year. Everything is from seed, except the peppers & tomatoes. All organic. Basically just meal based fertilizer & a combo of straw & grass for mulch. If you have a minute, check them out :D
Here is what I start with. About 32' X 32'. Tilled, straw covered. A few rows have been started & the pea poles are up.

Move the straw, plant and cover.

Rinse & repeat!

Here's my remesh cuke trellis & tomato cages. The cages are thanks in part to TZ-OH6's sticky.

Wow! That's a lot of knowlege. Looks like your homework paid off! How have you been able to keep the bugs and other critters from blemishing your plant's leaves?

I'd like to know that too. Your garden is beautiful. I hope to plant a bigger one this Fall. First time in years growing a garden. The soil isn't as good here in FL as it is in NY where we used to live. But, we got lots of squash this year. But the leaves are getting eaten pretty bad on the beans and sweet potatoes. What do you use on your plants?

Tks you guys! What I know about gardening has come from a detailed growing guide, my family, and internet sources like this one. This is my 3rd garden & they get better every year. I try to fix things I didn't like about the previous year, plus try a couple new things.
A far as pests, I'm pretty lucky in that regard. Because the yard is fenced in, we don't get deer, rabbits, racoons & the like. I do get a few bugs: striped cucumber beetles, japanese beetles, just got stink bugs. Picked my first beets last night & noticed a small rust colored burrowing beetle attacking them. Not sure what that is, but I'll have to figure it out.
Anyway, to control these bugs, I have been hand picking. We also have a lot of birds, so I'm sure they help out as well. I've also been learning what organic controls work on these pests, so if I get a major infestation I can deal with it quickly.
I should also add that, aside from fertilizer & mulch, I also amend all planting areas with compost & dehydrated cow manure. That's it though. A little skill & a little luck. Tks again for the comments & for checking out my garden!

Wow, what a timeline! Next year, you will have to use a high-speed camera  .

I've always thought that gardening books need more progression pics like these.

Thank you very much. This is a new method that I tried this year. Last year I planted first, then mulched. I like this method much better. It keeps the unplanted areas relatively weed-free. Plus, I'm able to get much tighter coverage around the seedlings. When you push the straw together, over the planted area, the stalks interlock to give you very nice coverage. It helps retain moisture, but still allows plenty of room for the plants to emerge.

I'm totally doing the straw that way next year! I do it plants first then straw and it is a complete disaster always. your way makes much more sense!

Tks sheeshshe  Like I said, I've tried it both ways, and this method is way better. If you have access to grass clippings or leaves, pile those on top as well :D
FruitAddict - Tomzilla is a Super Sweet 100 cherry tomato, very productive. The others are: Sun Gold (golden cherry), Big Boy, Early Girl, & Roma.
