butternut squash

I'm growing butternut squash for the the first time this year. I hilled 3 plants, and let the vines sprawl. Today I was trying to move the vine a bit, and noticed the vine actually put down roots at the nodes. Should I leave it alone or trellis it so it doesn't do that?

Let it be. Although some people do trellis squash, the extra roots help it to uptake more water and nutrients.
