what is corking?

I'm growing some jalapeños and I was doing some reading about them and I keep hearing something called corking. What does corking mean?

Corking are little check marks on the skin of certain peppers. Take a look at this site.

(RBG- I just edited this to hide the long URL because it breaks up the page formatting)

I have seen that corking on jalapeno peppers, but never knew it had a name. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling that's what corking is but I wasn't sure and I had a hard time finding info on what it was. This is great info to know because now I know my jalapeños are ready to pick!
