Elephant garlic issue

I have 2 elephant garlic growing in my very small garden. I've kept an eye on the scapes waiting for them to twist twice before cutting them but it hasn't even twisted once and the flower at the end of the scapes are blooming! Is the garlic ruined now? Should I pull them out? Suggestions please!

Relax. The elephant garlic is different than regular garlic. It will have that beautiful flower for you to enjoy and it will still put on a nice bulb for you to harvest later. Some say to cut the flowers for a larger bulb, but my own experiments say its a waste of time to do that. I couldn't see any significant difference in the bulb size. Just enjoy the bloom.
