Sugar snaps - no pods

Did I do something wrong? I added some compost manure when I originally planted..... after that only water.

The vines or rods are nearly 5 ft tall - blossoms on top - but no pods.

How long have they been growing for?

It sounds like it may be too much nitrogen, but then again, your ph may be off and they may not be getting the certain nutrients they need to fruit. Mine usually started to produce before they were that big.

The Sugar Snap variety is pretty tall, and mine are just now starting to flower, so although the extra nitrogen may have grown your plants a bit taller than most, I don't think you screwed them up too badly. Pods follow flowers.

I concur. I'm growing Super SUgar Snaps and they are now 6+ feet tall  No flowers/pods below 3 ft. Another tall shelling pea variety Tall Telephone Pole didn't even start to flower until nearly 4 ft tall. They have flat pods now but I have to wait until they fill out. Good thing weather turned cool -- 51F last night and only 65F right now.

I think you will soon have pods. Patience.
