Bell Peppers

Will Bell Pepper plants continue to survive into next year? And continue to produce fruit? I live down here in SWFL. Or maybe they should be pulled before our 40 degree winters?

Thanks to all that reply...

I say try it! Leave one or 2 plants and see what happens! Can't hurt.

Hi,

Peppers are biannuals. In several gardening books the authors actually dug up the pepper plants, potted them, took them in the house for the winter, and then replanted them in the spring.

If you have reasonably warm winters, which I assume SW Florida has, you can put vented greenhouse film over them and try to overwinter them. You could also try both methods and see which works.
