Cabbage Leaves - the big outer layer

Fri May 28, 2010 12:01 pm

My boy dog is obsessed with eating fresh veggies from the garden. That punk found a soft spot in the fence and has been eating the outside leaves of my cabbage...

Are they ok to eat?

Cabbage will make the dog have "unwanted effects on it's excretions" and it's kinda like what would happen if you ate a lot of cabbage. Too many greens and not of the right type can give him diarrhea or really nasty "stuff."
I have a bearded dragon that has the same problem if she eats lots of cabbage.
It's ok to have a little, but not too much.

~Well at least I have my backups... nope they're dead too.
~Outdoor gardens are very good when you have a Bearded Dragon that can just chomp her fill when she's hungry.

I also would be worried about the cabbage. Those large outer leaves prevent sun scald. Your dog, probably just gas. whof arted. :D

Ugh - I thought it was just cabbage but soon realized they were eating cilantro, tomato fruits (green ones) and cabbage.... it's like their own mix of pico de gallo
