Seems like summer is here early!

Picked a few zucchini today.

Also we are picking tomatoes, cucumbers, salad greens, swiss chard, garlic. Egg plant, as well as sweet and hot peppers have set fruit. Corn is starting to tassle. Won't be long before slicing tomatoes begin to ripen. Green beans are blooming. Cherries are done. Strawberry season is past its peak but plenty of production left. Blueberries and raspberries are just coming in.

That's amazing. I just planted my zucchini and now its raining. It seems it has been a cool season here. We live in two different worlds.

Yep, you were still having snow when we were having highs in the 80's, though we did have a cool spell for maybe two weeks in late April/early May, and that did slow things down a bit. This is the earliest bearing garden that I've ever had. But I am doing a lot more early starts inside and transplanting good sized plants at my normal planting time. That has moved harvest time for squash and cucumbers up by at least a month. Also, my greenhouse has helped give me a much better head start on tomatoes. The plants usually have full sized fruit when they are set in the garden location. Sure is fun having home grown tomatoes here in early May while most everyone else has two more months to wait.
