seed packets from walmart!!!

I bought 6 different types of seeds and I have questions:
when I flip over the packet it has stats for me as follows
days to Germination 7-10
days to harvest-50
and the my zone for planting is green FL
3 out of 5 say march - August
(Early white bush scallop squash, Pinkeye Purple Hull Cowpeas, and Bush Beans)
1 says Jan - march & September (Lincoln Peas)
1 says July-December (Broccoli)
1 says Jan-Mar & Aug-Dec (Lettuce)

now with these I know germination is when it sprouts right?
and the harvest days does that include the germination days?
and the months that it gives to plant when it says mar-Aug I should have it planted no later than August or should I have them planted in march

Those planting days are days that you can plant them.

Many folks do succession planting, and plant a bit on the first date, a few more on later dates.

And some crops can be raised as a spring crop or a fall crop your choice.

All they are saying is between those dates is what they recommend.

Your squash and beans will give you a harvest over several days or weeks, so basically that is correct.

I don't live where it is as warm as where you are, so August is pushing it for me. And July and August can be tough to get seeds to germinate, the heat can also be hard on seedlings. So, you might need to rig them a little shade, and keep them well watered, until it cools off some. Although the cowpeas like the heat.

I usually like to give myself some extra weeks, but in Florida, I doubt that frost is a concern for you.

Walmart, Foo

Try this link, it may help you with your planting guide.

I don't use the planting dates on the packets. They are to general most of the time. Use more local information. Go to the local Farmers Market and see what is selling. Ask questions.
