We enjoyed onions and lettuce most of the cool spring. I harvested my first seed planted summer veggie today. Some beautiful crook neck yellow squash. I only got two, but since I have been hand pollinating them, I will have a bushel basket full in less than a week. I have been looking forward to the squash all winter. When it went to $2.69 per pound in the stores, it made me look forward to it even more. Since I harvested over $200.00 worth, at last years prices; last year; I guess I will harvest $500.00 worth this year.
The first cucumbers are about ten days away, ripe tomatoes, about ten days after the cucumbers, green beans will be ready next week.
I wish everyone a bountiful harvest this year.

Fantastic Ted. People have either a love or hate for squash. I have a love. Found a squash puppies recipe (ala hushpuppies) and can't wait to try it out. Should be able to do so this weekend.
We have enjoyed lettuce and herbs, but now down to real business---squash, green beans, etc. Hey, I might even try a fried green tomato this weekend.

Awesome Ted. Good to know things are picking up. I have been having lettuce myself and few onions (small ones). Still waiting for my first tomato though it has finally, and I mean finally started to get some color. Oh yeah peas are coming too maybe a few day's to a week on those. I might even pick some young ones tonight for a salad I'm making with garden lettuce and onion.
It will be near 90 next week hard to believe since it is 64 for a high today, but I'm hoping that will kick start everything into high gear.
Keep it coming.
