rooted seed potato storage

I'm trying potatoes for the first time this year. I picked them up today, and they already have roots all over them. I'll be planting them in the next 3 days or so. What's the best way to store them until I plant? Right now they're in a brown paper bag. Any suggestions? Tks.

I think what you are calling roots are actually the stem sprouts. Leaving them in the bag for a few more days won't hurt.

You can slow down growth by putting the bag in the fridg.

If they've lasted as long as they have in that bag, a few more days shouldn't hurt.

hey, we put ours in a barrel outside, seems to be working. Hope this was helpful, considering I live in michigan, :D

Tks for the replies. I actually found the time to get these in the ground yesterday. A few Red Pontiacs & a few Kennebecs. Hopefully they come through.

Shows what I know about potatoes :P A friend pointed this out to me as I was about to plant them upside down :lol:
